Weird Wally
It all started in 1970 when I bought a Triumph motorcycle that was flat black with flames. (Even though I’ve had one of my custom cars entered in nearly every Detroit Autoramma since 1968.) So I bought two white bell helmets and painted and striped them to match the bike. After all the complements and customer requests I found myself striping and air-brushing more and more.
Professionally I was a mechanic for Chrysler for the last 40years; I always considered airbrushing and striping as a form of extreme relaxation, very therapeutic. I’m almost entirely self-taught with the exception of some education at gemini
I was an airbrush instructor at miller for 8 years, taught a few airbrush classes at studio 1219, and striping at do-all. I have been very fortunate to have had a few of my cars featured in a couple magazine articles and to have been a part of the motor city auto art mavens (among other local car/bike clubs) , which has allowed me to teach and pass on my experiences and love of the art to others..
