Fun Joel
I started doing pinstripe style designs in pencil and crayon when I was about 14 and didn't know what pinstriping was. The designs just helped me focus and get some peace and quiet upstairs. Then at 17 while locked up I met guy named Brian Beriter who had this book called "Kustom Kulture" with all these pictures of this guy Von Dutch and Ed Roth with tiny little brushes sticking out of their ears wearing German war helmets and being generally insane. I immediately knew these were my kind of guys. So when I got home I tried striping with what I had, testors model paint and model car brushes. Years and I mean years later, a model builder and neighbor of mine gave me a set of mack brushes, and I have to admit I had no idea what the hell they were at first, then remembered the pictures of Ed with those little brushes sticking out of his ears. I have put down some UGLY stripes with those brushes, but now and with some more practice (much more) those same macks will lick like it's the last stripe alive. I just started striping the real way in the last couple months and I want to pinstripe everything I see. |
