About the Artist
Bob Davidson Hi everyone, I’m Bob Davidson. I started pinstriping in 1955 and have been going strong for 52 years. My idols in pinstriping are Von Dutch, Ed Roth, Dean Jeffries, and Larry Watson. I have been fortunate enough to stripe some of the top Northwest hot rods and custom cars. Two of my favorite striping projects are the Hot Rod Lincoln and the emerald green custom car now displayed at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace. In 2004 this car won the Larry Watson outstanding pinstriping award at the Cruisin Nationals in Paso Robles. The Hot Rod Lincoln is the car that inspired the Hot Rod Lincoln song which was popular in the 1950’s, recorded by many artists. Each year I organize brush bashes for Mild to Wild Hot Rod & Harley Show and the Northwest Good Guys Show. The talented artists who join us each year continue to amaze me with their creative work. One of my joys at this point in life is to mentor young artists. Much to my amazement, I am striping more now than any other time in my life. People request striping on clothing, refrigerators, toilet seats, studio apartments, file cabinets & toolboxes. My goal is to be pulling lines at age 100.
